Reviewing Stoichiometry

News for today
- EVERY ONE GOT A EXTRA DAY FOR THE LAB- due tomorrow
- Stoichiometry quizzes returned
- Classifying chemical reaction lab returned
- Chapter study guide was given
            - answer key on moodle
            - it is very long, so it is recommended you do only what you need

We went over WS# 4 in class today (see answer key)
- The last problem was discussed in class... here is what it's all about....

Q: what mass of the excess reactant will be left over?

A: - we found out from the previous problem that HF was the limiting reactants
                    - so we can use it to figure out how much B2O3 reacted (this is because the reaction stops                              right when HF is completely used up)
   - After finding out how much B2O3 was actually used in the reaction, you subtract it from the original amount of B203 to find out how much B2O3 was left over.
                     - original amount -amount used up = amount left over!

HOMEWORK
-we were given another stoichiometry quiz to complete with a partner.

(Only if it was possible...)

The next blogger will be Serene Philip
